intruchipeaza mestesugul in stare genuina.
Obtine
Pastreaza cu sfintenie in
profunzimile artei noastre populare.
popular autentic pana in maduva oaselor, adevarat model pentru tinerii mesteri care-si
cauta repere profesionale si morale. |
Parascovia Pasat is a non-corrupted artisan; the essence of her handicraft remained the
same as it was thousands of years ago. A kind person, showing a permanent smile on her
face, the artisan from Ustia embodies the handicraft in genuine state.
She learned to weave from her mother when she was a
child. She obtains in weaving looms (the horizontal loom) rugs or carpets, Romanian
peasant homespun skirts, table cloth and so on, with all these 100% traditional products
she is a pleasant presence at the fairs in Bassarabia and Romania. She keeps piously in
her personal collection many textiles dowered by her diligent mother.
She is mysteriously tied to her native village; in
fact she opened there a small factory where she employed women from that area. We believe
that such initiatives should be encouraged and even supported by the local and regional
administration authorities within Prut transborder area; this would create centers around
which the handicrafts could develop organically without any intervention from the higher
institutions. Parascovia Pasat militates for the active participation of the artisans in
the village and parish feasts, the villagers being thus given the opportunity to grasp the
meaning of our folk art.
The common sense emanating from her entire
personality is often taken for timidity or even fear of the unknown; within this context
she judges it would prove useful if she were more pushing, more active and more
confident in what she does, (auto)suggestions extremely useful for an authentic artisan
up to the core, a real model for the young artisans who look for professional and moral
models. |
