In
zona etnografica Botosani s-a practicat vreme indelungata vopsirea si decorarea rituala a
oualor in preajma Pastelui.
sa iasa in lume cu ouale si in restul anului.
le-a banuit nicand.
mesterilor populari, deocamdata doar in zona Moldovei (Iasi, Suceava, Piatra Neamt, Roman
contemporani. |
The
ritual eggs ornamenting with designs around Eastern Time was practiced for a long time in
Botosani ethnographic area. Unfortunately in the 20th century, as in the case of other
handicrafts, together with the de-sacralization of the archaic structures we witness the
movement of these primary significations of ornamenting eggs towards the commercial, the
design and chromatic functions being somehow naturally exacerbated.
So, the Eastern egg becomes an object of art
(popular) made all through the entire year and which has various uses the most popular one
being that of souvenir (it may also serve as an adornment for the Christmas tree!).
Unlike the ethnographic areas from Bucovina, you may
count the women in Botosani who constantly practice this handicraft on your fingers
ends. There are of course, enough women who ornament the Eastern eggs, especially with the
help of certain plants but only few of them dare to display their eggs during the rest of
the year. Well, Iulian Celica Nistor from Rogojesti-Mihaileni is one of them.
She learned this art from her mother when she was a
child, but she did not think she could make a handicraft out of this. It was only over the
last years that she began to consider the fact that the eggs ornamented with ancient
motives from Botosani area could bring her additional incomes and surprising spiritual
satisfactions.
In this way she started to participate to artisan
fairs and festivals, only in Moldavia for the time being (Iasi, Suceava, Piatra Neamt,
Roman and Ciocanesti where she took a special distinction at the Ornamented Eggs
Festival, this being so much more notable as she works for a little while!).
The children are a real support for Iuliana Nistor
and there are some chances for them to continue their mothers handicraft. We are glad
to see that Iuliana Nistor is an open minded person who takes over and perpetuates the
design motives from her native area, being aware that her name will be associated with
these places, this ensuring her a certain fame among the contemporary artisans. |
