transfrontaliere ART; astfel, mesterul nascut in Zaimul lui Mateevici a deprins
prelucrarea blanii tocmai la Galati, de la niste batrani la care a fost in ospetie in
Pana in 2006,

Ciomirtans artistic development matches perfectly the essence of ART transborder
network; in this way the artisan who was born in Mateevicis village, Zaim, learned
peltry when visiting some old people from Galati, in 1992; he had not yet turned 20 then,
but this meeting would mark the next 15 years.
During the years to come he managed to put together a
large personal collection of fur caps both for women and men, peasants belts and
sheepskin coats. He had no personal exhibition so far for the artisan believes that The
market is his personal exhibition, this means his activity is based on meeting the
demands of the customers., his handicraft having mainly an utilitarian purpose. Until
2006, his presence to artisan fairs and festivals was practically inexistent, the change
taking place once he entered UMPM.
He became a member of the association from Chisiau as
small businessman who has a certain experience as regards market economy, the artisan from
Zaim being capable of sharing this experience with other generation fellows who are not
familiar with the free market characteristics. Of course, he hopes that by becoming a
member of the UMPM he will be able to enter other distribution markets, to expand his
business; he also thinks that this wont affect the prevailing traditional character of
his objects, so much the more as quality occupies an important place in his activity.
The volunteer character, the devotion towards
handicrafts, the important place customers occupy, the fact he wishes to engage the young
in these handicrafts these are the coordinates which round the biography of the
artisan from Zaim. |
